New Community Corners City Program

Have you been wondering what those new metal cubic planters are doing at the intersections of Sanchez/Cesar Chavez and Sanchez/Day? Well wonder no more!

The City has launched a new pilot program called Community Corners to allow neighbors to beautify some of the new “daylit” zones created by SFMTA to enhance pedestrian crosswalk safety. Our new Day St & Cesar Chavez St planters were made possible by generous contributions from SF Beautiful, the CA Native Plant Society, the Presidio Nursery, and most importantly our wonderful volunteer crew: Chris, Dominic, Andrea, Devon, Amela, Emme, Kieran, Zaid, Ben, and Brooke Ray.

A special thank you to Chris and Emme for caring for these new planters! Please be patient and keep checking in to watch our sweet little native plants grow!
